Prescriptions

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

These can be requested once they have been authorised by the doctor. Requests should be madeĀ via the online portal or using the re-order slip which will be enclosed with your prescription. Please make sure your request arrives at the surgery at least three working days before you require it, as there may be items which need to be ordered. If you request an item which is not on your repeat prescription, this will have to be authorised by a doctor and will take longer than a regular repeat prescription item. You may also need to see or speak to a doctor in order to get the prescription. Almost all medications issued on repeat prescriptions will require you to see the doctor for review at least once a year.

We would ask all those who are able to sign up for our online re-ordering system. You can register simply by calling into the surgery with a single form of photographic ID and the staff will issue instructions and a password to each patient in person (thereby reducing the risk of any data breach). Staff will not be able to share passwords or instructions for anyone other than the person present. Using the online ordering system should be more convenient for patients and allows our staff the ability to action the request in a more timely manner and reduces interruptions to their working day. We would ask that, as with handing in the re-order slip, you give at least 3 working days notice before you require your prescription.

UK PHARMACY SUPPLY ISSUES – January 2025

As per the ongoing UK news headlines, we are experiencing difficulties in obtaining certain medications. The medication shortages vary from day to day and are not predictable. Please bear with us at this time and give as much notice as possible for your repeat medications. We will try not to restrict quantity supplied or change medications where at all possible but in some circumstances this may be necessary. Please be kind to our dispensing reception staff, they are doing everything they can to minimise any avoidable disruption.
