All surgeries are booked by appointment. If you wish to see a specific Doctor, please inform the receptionist.
If you are temporarily resident (<90 days) in the area and need medical attention or advice please phone either 111 (NHS24 Freephone), your own GP practice or if needing urgent or emergency care our reception team will help direct you to the most appropriate care.
If you are visiting the area and have forgotten your medication please phone your own GP surgery (if registered in the UK) for a prescription to be sent to Boots Pharmacy, Ullapool or phone 111 (NHS24 Freephone) for an emergency supply.
Face to face, telephone and Near-Me appointments are all available. Please advise staff on booking which type of appointment you would like.
If you wish to speak to a Doctor by telephone, every effort will be made to put you through to the Doctor at the time of your call. If the Doctor is unavailable, he or she will telephone you later.
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer it to someone else.
Good general practice relies on good communication between patient and Doctor and vice versa. If you feel unhappy about any aspect of your treatment (medical or otherwise), or are not sure about any aspect of your care, please ask the Doctor to clarify the situation. If it does not prove possible to resolve the situation in this way then you may wish to make a formal complaint.
The surgery closes at 6pm. On Monday to Thursday evenings please call the Practice number (01571 844226) and the answer phone message will direct you to the phone number for the on-call Doctor (from the Practice). From Friday 6pm to Monday 8am please phone 111 (NHS24 Freephone). The staff at NHS24 will ask for information about your health and condition and will advise on the most appropriate course of action. This may include offering advice over the phone or advising you to attend a pharmacy. If they feel you need to be seen they will pass your case to Highland Hub who will be in touch to arrange for you to attend the Urgent Care Centre (Scourie, Lochinver or Ullapool), or in some cases, provide a home visit.
If you are unfit to travel to your out-patient appointment please inform the Hospital using the phone number on the appointment letter. If you have patient transport booked, please let the patient booking service know as soon as you can.
